Five decades on, the city tidy towns and garden competition in blooming good shape

The results of this year’s Galway City Tidy Towns and Garden Competition have been announced. The overall winner of the Front Garden Competition was Mary Crowe, Ballagh. First prize in the Front Garden - City Council Estate category was awarded to John Connaughton, St. James’ Crescent. The best first time entrant was Eileen Lennon, Renmore. The winners of the Best Window Boxes/Floral Display category were Carolyn Shiels, Oaklands and Bernie Comber, Blakes Lane. Seamus King, St. James’ Crescent won the Best Lawns category.
